Style tips
- It’s all about the dress. Shopping early means you have the biggest selection of options and the best opportunity to find your style in your size. Plus, it also allows time for alterations for the perfect fit if needed.
- Shop with a friend. Take someone dress shopping with you – someone whose fashion sense or opinion you can count on.
- Take a picture. Whether you’ve found the look you love or are trying to decide which one is the right one, having shots of you in the dress – from all angles – will help you make the perfect pick, and make it easier to choose the right shoes and accessories, and hair and makeup.
- Don’t forget the basics. Invest in the right bra for your dress – and take the dress with you to be sure. You may need a convertible, strapless or halter bra, or double-sided fashion tape to keep everything in place.

Style tips
- Make sure the shoe fits. Once you’ve found your favourite shoes, try them on for size. Walk around in them at home, dance, practice your runway walk, but mostly break them in before the big night.
- Save your soles. Just in case, remember shoe inserts and glide sprays can help dancing feet keep on dancing. Purse-sized, foldable ballet flats are another bonus if, at any time, you need to give the high heels a rest.

Style tips
- Polish your prom look. Accessories work as the finishing touch. If your dress is embellished, metallic or sequined, keep your jewelry subtle so everything about you shines. If your outfit is elegantly understated, you can afford to add a little glitz to your glamour. Feel free.
- Make the most of your purse. This year, the little clutch is the big choice. Grab something shiny to add a touch of sparkle, or choose something bold for a splash of colour.
BEAUTY SERVICES
Style tips
- Prep your prom style. Pre-plan your hair and make-up and take photos of the looks you love to share with your hair stylist or makeup artist. And remember, book your hair, makeup and mani/pedi appointments well in advance.
- Wear a button-front or zip-up top when you get your hair and makeup done to avoid mussing your style.
- Little fixes. Consider buying mini beauty products to slip in your purse for tiny touch-ups.

Style tips
- Suit yourself. Whether it’s a tux, a three-piece suit, or a suit and tie or a v-neck, choose a style that fits your personality.
- It’s all in the details. Pay equal attention to your accessories – your shoes, bow tie or tie, pocket square and belt are what will allow you to express your individual style.
- Make the cut. Go for a trim a week before the prom, but save yourself the hassle and avoid going for any big changes or radical styles this close to the big night.
