Assistant Store Manager


Woolrich, Inc is seeking fashion minded individuals to join our Yorkdale Shopping Centre Management team. Showcasing the John Rich& Bros. European apparel collection, our upscale boutique store features contemporary outerwear and sportswear collections, Made in the USA blanket collection and other lifestyle accessories.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Assistant Manager
Reports to: Store Manager
Status: Base salary plus commission and benefits package

Objective: Assist Store Manager in sales generation, operations, and human resource functions of the store to ensure maximum profitability and compliance with company procedures, which will enable the store to meet and exceed the sales goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but are not limited to)
• Achieves Goals: Assists in store sales, ADS, UPT, SPH and inventory
• Ensure the Sales and Service standards is executed consistently and personally leads by example
• Schedules employees in accordance with Company policies to provide excellent customer service
• Analyze reports (Sell Through and Productivity), communicate appropriate information to business partners to maximize business opportunities and improve store profit
• Effectively teaches, demonstrates and ensures all store staff complies with all Company initiatives: Training Programs, Selling Programs, Dress Code
• Complies with all Company direction on merchandise presentation and marketing standards
• Assist in implementation of Store Events
• Recruit, interview and hire brand appropriate sales oriented staff
• Assist in maintaining the staffing levels to Company Headcount Matrix
• Assist in developing staff to ensure manpower succession
• Manage staff performance: weekly meeting with productivity report and sales statistics, one on one conversations, coaching daily on performance, counseling under-performance and policy violations (with Store Manager)
• Assists in management of inventory shipping and receiving procedures
• Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization
• Assist in the preparation of store, schedule, train and direct staff for store inventories
• Assist and attend all store meetings
• Work with all associates in the store to maintain a professional and productive work environment
• Adheres to all Company Policy and Procedures
• Adheres to all local, state and federal laws
• Supervise Sales Associates assigned to the store
• Professionally interacts with all levels of Management and Human Resources in the organization

• Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers
• Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation and analyze reports
• Ability to perform fundamental mathematical calculations
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area and register area
• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs (depending upon store design)
• Ability to move or handle merchandise and boxes throughout the store generally weighing 0 – 40 pounds
• Ability to work varied hours and days to oversee store operations

• Minimum 2 years of previous Retail Management experience
• Previous apparel experience required: luxury experience preferred
• Proven track record of successful sales generation, clienteling, employee development & career path
• Proficient computer experience with Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• College Degree preferred
