Summer Brights For Men

It’s safe to say that summer is on it’s way and I’m hoping that you’ve all ditched at least some of of your darker shades and heavier knits! I want to focus on some Spring/Summer brights for the gentlemen who want to incorporate colour and prints into their wardrobe. I mean we’re in a perfect place in fashion where designers and brands have provided us with many different options to incorporate colour and made it easy to wear! I’ve put together a list of trend colours and key pieces that can easily be added or introduced into any wardrobe:

Boisterous Blue

Left to Right: Gucci S/S 2013 men’s, Iceberg S/S 2013 men’s and Paul Smith S/S 2013 men’s

Next to black, blue is a colour that most men already have in their wardrobe and it’s the easiest of colours to integrate. Refresh your wardrobe by introducing a pair of fitted trousers, slightly cropped at the ankles that can be worn with loafers, think of a relaxed knitted cardigan for those cooler nights and a modern rendition of the polo shirt.

Yielding Yellow:

Left to Right: Burberry Prorsum S/S 2012 men’s, Christian Lacroix S/S 2012 men’s and Canali S/S 2013 men’s

Although an extremely bright colour for some, we’ve seen a varying brightness this season in yellow in comparison to any other colour. From electrifying outerwear that’ll get attention anywhere or if your’re more subtle, a mustard yellow pant pairs well with neutrals and brown. But, if you really want to be ahead of everyone else, metallics are a fashion forward option this season!

Commanding Camo:

Left to Right: Valentino S/S 2013 men’s, Dries Van Noten S/S 2013 men’s and J Crew S/S 2013 men’s

Women have florals and we’ve seen that spring trend trickle into menswear but if you want a print for the summer season, look no further than something camouflage. If you don’t have anything camo printed, introduce the print to your closet with a bomber jacket which will be complemented by a plain t-shirt, a pair of basic trousers and a pair of sneakers – making it more casual to sport the trend. The same idea can be said with camo shorts or trousers – pair with a classic button down, a tailored blazer and pair of sandals or loafers for a smart look.
