Summer has a way of inspiring us to try something new and make over our looks. If you’re like us and want to try out something a little different this season read on to learn more about the top trends in hair 2015.
A bold new look inspired by the beautiful Lily Collins, the Boyish Pixie showcases your natural features all while keeping your look young and fresh. The look differs from the typical Pixie in that the snipped, uneven bangs fall above the brow to keep the style from looking to tailored.
The Lob, or long bob, came from the ever stylish Lauren Conrad and has taken over in Hollywood. Not only is the look perfect for those who aren’t quite ready to commit to a full bob after growing their hair all winter, but it’s unique length looks ultra chic either curled, rumpled or straight.
Clean Cut (Blunt Ends)
For the past couple years summer looks have been all about the messy and tousled beach look. This year, while we still love a good beachy chic look, we’re also seeing a lot of stylistas opt for a more clean cut, blunt ends look. Preppy and polished celebs like Olivia Palermo have taken this hairstyle from winter to summer by lightening up the colour or taking a few inches off.
As we mentioned before, the long tousled layered look has always been a top trend for summer and this year is no different. Perfect your beach chic by adding in additional layers but keeping them no shorter than your shoulders. Consider adding in some extensions to achieve this sought after style.
Tousled Top Knot
A far cry from the once “prissy” stigma that high buns once had, the Tousled Top Knot is the perfect look for the gal on the go this Summer. Get the look by using your fingers, not a brush, to pull hair into place. Opt for mouse when styling rather than hairspray and allow your natural wave to shine through.
Once again, the once “preppy or prissy” hair style has taken a turn and become a more relaxed and summer ready look. Loosely pull your locks back and braid as per usual, tease and pull at the braid to allow for a looser effect and finish with a light hold spray to keep movement at a maximum.
Transitioning away from the ombre look, fashionistas such as Jessica Beil are now choosing to lighten their locks using a new technique from France. Balayage simply means the highlights are hand swept through the hair using a “paint” brush in way that would naturally lighten up hair that would typically be exposed to the sun.
