Swimwear | Summer 2015

Swimwear | Summer 2015

Well hello there Mr. Sun, Mr. Golden Sun! Summer is here and there is nothing we love more than basking in the sweet summer heat! If you’re plans this season include a trip or two to the lake, a beach or even a friend’s pool party, be sure to read all about our favourite trends in swimwear for Summer 2015.

High Waisted

Take a page out of Taylor Swifts lookbook and opt for a high-waisted bikini bottom to add a little extra something to your beach ensemble. The high-waisted bottom is perfect for a gal with gams for days or for those who prefer to embrace the trends of the season, even on the beach. We love this look from Victoria’s Secret but have also seen the high-waisted bottom all over the centre. Shop the look and let us know what you find using the @YorkdaleStyle.

Fluttery Tops

This adorable trend in swimwear is a direct throwback to the 70’s and we love it. While this is generally a better look for females with more petite figures, as it typically adds a little extra ‘umph’, we are also loving little touches of embellishment found on bikini tops for more full figured women. Play around with the look and try different levels of flutter, find what works for you by shopping the look at PINK, Victoria’s Secret and H&M.

One Piece Hybrids

Gone are the days of the one piece being considered a more reserved option in swimwear. We’re seeing all kinds of fun designs, cut outs and plunging necklines on this year’s line up of bathing suits. If you’re up to the tan line challenge, make sure you spend some time finding the perfect fit for your body type-cut outs should hit you where you naturally curve, plunging necklines should only be worn for those who aren’t planning on participating in a lot of water sports and without exception, one piece hybrids should only be worn by those willing to lather on the sunblock.

Inspired by the runways, prints in swimwear are back in a BIG way. We love the look of the over-sized, overstated graphic print. The bold and flirty look can be found at retailers like H&M, Victoria’s Secret and Forever XX1.
