PEN, PLAY, PERFORM
Every Thursday from 4:30-6:00pm in November
Pen, Play, Perform: Kids’ Writing & Acting Workshop is a 4-part workshop running in the month of November where kids ages 9–12 write and perform their own stories, play and learn acting exercises for building confidence and self-expression.
These classes are FREE with food and refreshments provided. Presto Tickets are available upon request.
In this workshop, participants will:
-
- Build confidence: Help kids feel comfortable speaking, performing, and sharing ideas in front of others.
- Encourage self-expression: Give children creative ways to express their thoughts, feelings, and imagination through writing and acting.
- Foster collaboration: Teach kids to work as a team, listen to one another, and build on each other’s ideas.
- Develop storytelling skills: Introduce the basics of character, setting, and plot so kids can write their own short scenes.
- Strengthen communication: Practice clear speaking, active listening, and using voice, body language, and facial expressions.
- Nurture creativity and imagination: Use games and exercises that encourage kids to think outside the box and try new ideas.
- Promote risk-taking in a safe space: Create a supportive environment where mistakes are welcome and every child feels encouraged to try.
- Have fun and build community: Make play the heart of every session so kids form friendships and look forward to coming back.
