    2022 was an exceptional year for Yorkdale with the introduction of some of the world’s most covetable brands to the Centre of Style. Our lineup of 17 new stores included fashion house Fendi, cult labels GANNI and Acne Studios, everyday fine jewelry brand Mejuri and world-renowned chocolatier Läderach.

    Emporio Armani store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    Emporio Armani

    Launched by Giorgio Armani in 1981, Emporio Armani is specifically intended for the modern generations. Today, the world-renowned brand has a strong experimental and metropolitan style, reflecting all the characteristics of elegance typical of Armani aesthetics.

    The brand offers a wide range of pieces and accessories for every function and occasion – from sportswear to formal to elegant – and stands out with an avant-garde style, capable of identifying and anticipating fashion trends. The same spirit carries over to the accessories, with a vast selection of footwear, bags, small leather goods and soft accessories for both men and women.

    The Yorkdale location is home to its first standalone Emporio Armani store.

    Diptyque store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    Diptyque

    Diptyque is synonymous with luxury candles. The Diptyque story began in Paris in 1961 to showcase the founder’s fabric designs. Gradually transforming into a world of its own, the store soon boasted a dazzling repertoire of fragrances, all bearing the brand’s signature black lettering on the renowned oval label.

    The Yorkdale location marks Diptyque’s first standalone store in Canada and offers the brand’s signature luxury skincare products, perfumes, candles and diffusers.

    MCM

    MCM (Modern Creation Munchen) is a luxury lifestyle goods and fashion house with a focus on functional innovation, including the use of cutting-edge techniques. Founded during the Golden Age of Munich (1976)—an era of bright lights, jet set, and disco—MCM has remained an enduring icon for over 45 years.

    Today, through its association with music, art, travel, and technology, MCM embodies the bold, rebellious, and aspirational. Always with an eye on the disruptive, the driving force behind MCM centers on revolutionizing classic design with futuristic materials.

    GANNI store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    GANNI

    Cult label GANNI is known and revered as the brand for cool girls. Based in Copenhagen and owned and run by the husband-and-wife team Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup and Founder Nicolaj Reffstrup, it has developed exponentially over recent years with its Scandi 2.0 sense of style full of personality and contrast. GANNI is all about making their community who wear their clothes feel even more confident and capable of anything.

    Its Yorkdale location marks the brand’s first flagship store in Canada. Serving as an extension of the Scandinavian label’s commitment to sustainability, the store uses podiums made from recycled plastic waste, as well as interior trays created using pressed old fabrics and upcycled Artek stools made using repurposed GANNI fabrics.

    Acne Studios

    Acne Studios is a Stockholm-based fashion house with a multidisciplinary approach. It focuses on men’s and women’s ready-to-wear apparel, denim, footwear and accessories inspired by art, photography and architecture. Its designs are minimalistic, timeless, yet loud enough to make head turns with fun colors and layering (chances are, you’ve probably seen their wildly popular toques and oversized scarves). Johansson’s unique ability to design unconventional and essential items ranging from full collections to single pieces is what makes Acne Studios special and a leader in today’s fashion industry.

    Acne Studios’ Yorkdale location marks the brand’s first store in Canada.

    Fendi store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    Fendi

    The house of Fendi was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. Soon after, the duo opened a boutique next to the workshop where Adele crafted leather accessories inspired by the work of Roman master saddlers.

    Soon winning international acclaim, Fendi emerged as a brand renowned for its elegance, craftsmanship, innovation and style. The collaboration with the late Karl Lagerfeld began back in 1965 and lasted 54 years, in 1992 Silvia Venturini Fendi seconded him in the Artistic Direction. In 1994 she was given responsibility of Leather Goods Accessories and then the direction of the Menswear line. In September 2020 Kim Jones was appointed Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear, while Delfina Delettrez Fendi, fourth generation of the Fendi family, joined the Maison as Artistic Director of Jewelry.

    Today Fendi is synonymous with quality, tradition, experimentation and creativity.

    Fendi’s Yorkdale location is the brand’s first standalone store in Canada.

    Allbirds store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    Allbirds

    Allbirds, the makers of the world’s most comfortable shoes, has landed at the Centre of Style. The San Francisco-based footwear and fashion brand is dedicated to making sustainable everyday products using premium natural materials, such as merino wool and eucalyptus, in lieu of synthetic fabrics. The whole storefront is constructed from fully recyclable aluminum and renewable walnut plywood with even the service desk made using locally sourced renewable maple plywood.

    Psycho Bunny

    Psycho Bunny redefines the classics with inimitable wit and peerless quality, giving tradition an updated edge. The menswear brand makes clothes for the sake of self-expression and takes pride in standing out with clever detailing, vibrant colours, and luxurious trimmings such as mother-of-pearl buttons, pique fabrics and tapered seams. Though the brand is known for its brightly-coloured cotton polos, they offer a range of styles and collections for every occasion. And fun fact: the mischievous bunny and crossbones insignia—first penned as a napkin doodle before quickly morphing into a ubiquitous symbol—famously requires 4,000 stitches to create.

    Mejuri

    Mejuri does fine jewelry differently and is all about redefining luxury, your way. Design, craftsmanship, and responsible sourcing are at the cornerstone of their offering and the brand works with master jewelers to create pieces that feel like you—to mean what you want, wear how you want, and keep forever.

    Mejuri jewelry is made to live in and is designed in-house with craftsmanship and responsible sourcing at the cornerstone of it all. It’s jewelry that not only looks good but also feels good.

    The Yorkdale location marks the brand’s first enclosed shopping centre store globally.

    Lucid

    Lucid Motors believes in the dream ahead. With a relentless focus on innovation, luxury, and sustainability, their array of luxury electric vehicles means you no longer have to choose between doing great things and doing the right thing. The design of Lucid Air is inspired by the state of California, while the interior elements, such as colours, materials, and finishes are inspired by the diverse landscapes and geography of California.

    Lucid aims to create sustainable mobility without compromise in cars that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for all the ways people get around. At Lucid, an exceptional high priority is placed on efficiency—their cars must make the best possible use of the world’s resources.

    The 2,850 square foot showroom offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the Lucid Air in person, including its technology, exterior finishes and interior materials. A virtual reality experience is offered to allow guests to see different models, colours and interiors.

    OffLine store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    OFFLINE

    OFFLINE by Aerie is activewear for real life. The name references taking a break and “going offline” from things such as work, school, and social media. The female-focused brand features a range of products including workout leggings, sports bras, tops, workout dresses, skirts and more made for working out, going outside and relaxing at home.

    Laderach store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

    Läderach

    Läderach is a Swiss chocolate and confectionary manufacturer based in Ennenda. It was founded in 1962 in Glarus by Rudolf Läderach. His patent for the process of manufacturing hollow, ready-made chocolate truffles has revolutionized the fine chocolate industry.

    At the Yorkdale store, you’ll find the iconic FrischSchoggi™ (fresh chocolate) counter, which showcases large slabs of chocolate bark handcrafted without additives or preservatives by their artisans in Switzerland. The brand creates all the products in a “bean-to-bar” in-house production facility in Switzerland before shipping to its stores worldwide.

    Café Landwer

    Inspired by Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, Café Landwer is the spot for incredible eats, drinks, desserts and specialty coffee. Their food reflects everything they believe in: delicious down-to-earth local cuisine that expresses the best of both past and future, made fresh with love. 

    TWG Tea

    A juxtaposition between classic and modernity, the elegant yet stylishly chic TWG Tea Boutique showcases exquisitely appointed interiors celebrating the world of tea. Featuring an ornate façade of warm mahogany, burnished brass, antique furnishings, a hardwood tea counter, and opulent touches of gold trimmings, the Tea Boutique welcomes guests with a beautiful patisserie display highlighting an enticing selection of tea-infused patisseries and macarons.

    With a treasure trove of 1,000 types of single estate, fine harvests and exclusive blends from 47 tea-producing regions, tea lovers can select their favourite loose-leaf teas from the exceptional tea wall lined with quintessential yellow tea tins or pick from the alluring rows of packaged teas and tea accessories.

Founded by Kenneth Shoji, % Arabica sources largely from small farms, serving their unique blend, as well as single-origin beans from around the world.

    The brand’s love for coffee and design shines through its unique architecture and the one-of-a-kind coffee experience offered at each location.
